Adesto ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data as we provide the "presence layer" for your shared physical spaces.
We collect information necessary to coordinate real-time presence and maintain a secure community.
Account & Authentication: We use Supabase for secure authentication. We collect your email address and User ID. Note: Adesto never sees or stores your password; it is managed entirely by Supabase's encrypted auth service.
Profile Data: Information you choose to provide, such as your name, bio, and avatar image.
Precise Location Data: To enable "Presence Signals" and show you nearby Spaces, we use Mapbox to process your location. This data is only collected while the app is in the foreground (open and in use). Users of all ages can manage or disable location permissions at any time through their device settings.
User-Generated Content (UGC): Messages, signals (your intent to be at a location), and any Spaces you create.
Technical Logs: IP addresses and device metadata used for security and session management (hosting/edge logs). We do not use IP addresses to identify you in analytics.
Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights: We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand aggregate usage and performance. These services may collect anonymized data points such as page/route URL, referrer, device type, browser, operating system, network speed, performance metrics (e.g., Web Vitals), timestamp, and coarse location (country/region/city). This data is used only for product improvement and performance monitoring and is not used for tracking you across apps or sites.
We use your data to:
Facilitate real-time coordination and messaging.
Display your "Presence Signals" to other users within specific Spaces.
Prevent abuse, stalking, or unauthorized access.
Improve app performance (via Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights).
We do not sell your personal data or location history to third parties.
To provide a seamless experience, we share data with the following essential sub-processors:
Supabase: Secure database storage, file hosting, and real-time engine.
Mapbox: Mapping and geocoding services.
Vercel: Application hosting and deployment.
Note: These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and are prohibited from using it for their own marketing purposes.
Your data remains active as long as your account exists.
Presence Signals: These are ephemeral by nature and are designed to reflect current or upcoming intent.
Account Deletion: You may trigger account deletion within the app. This process includes a security re-authentication and a short "cool-off" period. Once finalized, your personal data is permanently scrubbed from our Supabase production tables.
Note: This meets the strict "End-to-End Deletion" requirements for the Apple App Store.
Adesto is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the app from the EU or other regions, please note that your data will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. where our service providers are located.
Adesto is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information from children under 13 years of age, and no part of our Service is directed to children under 13.
If you learn that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, you may alert us at hello@adesto.io. If we learn that we have collected any personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly take steps to delete such information and terminate the child’s account.
Regardless of where you live, Adesto provides you the right to:
Access/Export: Request a copy of the data we have on you.
Correct: Update your profile information at any time.
Delete: Request total erasure of your data.
